Prerequisites #
Before you start installing NimDeploy on your endpoints, make sure the following packages are present in your online repository:
- Chocolatey
- NimDeploy Framework
- NimDeploy Service
- NimDeploy TrayApp
In addition to the above packages, it is also very important to set the following anti-virus exclusions to ensure that NimDeploy functions correctly:
- C:\Program Files\NimbleWorks\NimDeploy\Service\NimDeploy.Service.exe
- C:\Program Files\NimbleWorks\NimDeploy\Manager\NimDeploy.Manager.exe
System Requirements an Compatibility #
Hardware Requirements #
- At least 2 GB RAM.
- A minimum of 500 MB disk space for NimDeploy. Note: Additional space will be required for software that NimDeploy installs and distributes.
Operating Systems #
The following operating systems are supported, provided they are still under active Microsoft support:
- Windows 10 (Single and Multi Session)
- Windows 11 (Single and Multi Session)
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2022
Installation #
In the bottom-left corner of the dashboard, you’ll find the NimDeploy Installer.
This is an MSI tailored for installation on Windows devices. Upon installation, the endpoint will automatically register within the NimDeploy dashboard, allowing you to view and manage the device seamlessly.
During the installation process, you have the option to specify the INITGROUPID parameter.
This parameter requires an integer value, corresponding to the ID of a group you’ve created in the Frontend
(see Groups for more information).
By installing endpoints with this parameter, the endpoint automatically becomes a member of a designated default application group. Consequently, after the MSI installation is complete, all applications associated with that group will initiate their installation process.
